We are so powerful...

I recently saw this video posted all over facebook and eventually checked it out. Though there is some argument on the web about whether this is true or not...regardless it can still send a strong message. 

WE as human beings are so power. Not just physically but emotionally as well. Not only do we have power in our own lives, but we have power in other peoples as well. How we treat others last much longer than our specific interactions do. Though we may forget moments after being with someone, our attitude towards them could be on their mind for days, weeks, or years after. So why not leave a positive and lasting impression. I believe that a lot of who we are is made up of what we think but another and perhaps even greater part is made up of how we act.  I'm human and can't say that I've never thought meanly about someone, or treated them with less than the respect they deserve. However, I hope that my overall treatment of the individual would be more positive than negative.

It's amazing that we can break people down so much, like Jonah. Who could be proud of knowing that they treated someone so poorly? Whoever is needs a serious adjustment of the world and their effect in it. 

This world can be brutal and nasty without the negative influence of your direct peers. Natural disasters, famine, corruption, murder, disease have a big enough weight in the dark places of life. There is absolutely no place to add to that. You are powerful and you can use your powerful to be wonderful. You can change the world around you or the world at large. You can give someone hope with a smile and encouragement OR you can ruin their day and their view of themselves by being vicious. 

Personally I'd much rather be that hope. I'd much rather lift someone up instead of break them down. I'd rather inspire them than limit them. I'd rather show them understanding than my judgement. The choice is ours.
