Refreshed
This weekend was packed packed packed.
With hours of practice for Campus Sing and Initiation keeping us busy, the Taylor Swift concert ended up creeping upon Alex and I before we knew it. It was Saturday afternoon and we finally realized it was only 3 hours until the concert started. It was Alexs parents' graduation present to me and it was EPIC. We had amazing seats thanks to her Dad and his skills. They couldn't have been better. We expected it to be good, she is known for being entertaining. But the concert was even more awesome then I expected. I haven't always been a Taylor fan, but the past couple of years I've grown to like her newer sound and appreciate the fact that she is insanely creative. The stage and extra things were entertaining enough but adding her acoustic sound, dancing, and singing (I promise it sounded great and I've been to a bunch of concerts) made it go above and beyond what I imagined. There wasn't a dull moment. I've heard she designed her last tours set and if that's true for this one, she is a creative genius. It was so fun and Alex and I sung along the whole time.
It was also great timing with thoughts of moving, graduation, finding a job, and real life looming - it was refreshing to have a few hours were we just enjoyed her music and were blown away by how sweet she was. She literally sang her opening song and then stood at the end of the stage just looking around at everyone, with the cutest smile, and thanking us repeatedly for hanging out with her on a Saturday and letting her talk about her "feelings" which she says she "apparently has a lot of". :) It was genuine and you could tell she loved every second as much as we did.
If that wasn't enough - when we left the concert she had unlimited Diet Cokes being passed out outside. She knows how to represent her brands.
Then came Campus Sing were we were on "Phire" - I'm so sore and worn out from dance practice but it was one of the best times I've had in Phi Mu. I loved every second of our long practices and appreciated getting to hang out so much with some of my 'sisters'. I loved when everything finally seemed to click and I was confident with the dances. I even enjoyed when everything went blank right before the actual dance started. I remember about 8 seconds of the 7 minutes we danced.
I am so so so so so so proud of everyone who danced and everyone who came together to make it happen. It was definitely hard work all around but it was well worth it. It was badass. We were badass. I <3 you all.
So essentially I am just thankful for this past weekend. Though it wore me out it still left me feeling refreshed and excited and proud. Sunday after the dance was hilarious because Alex and I could barely keep our eyes open. All of the sudden our adrenaline was gone and we were out, with matching headaches ;)
Wouldn't change a thing about the past 72 hours. Chaotic perfection.
XoXo
be love.
