Spring Break

It's back to reality time...unfortunately Spring Break doesn't last forever.

I had a really good time on the tennis team's break. We went to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores Alabama.
I'd never been and ended up really enjoying it. The weather was amazing 70s and sunny everyday. Truly can't complain.
One of the most interesting things about the trip was the diversity of the people that went. As a team we all work pretty well together, and as individuals I feel like we are all very unique. Some are quiet, loud, funny, serious, wild, introverted, a little bit of everything. I can see pieces of myself in a lot of my teammates.
It was an especially dynamic group of girls. The diversity of us worked in its own special way. I got to hang out with people that I don't see on a daily basis outside of practice. We got to lay out together, eat out together, hang out and have lazy nights together (except that night with Katie hahaha ;) )
I got to spend a week sharing a lovely room with Torise. We throughly enjoyed our sandy twin beds and the room that was so small my bed blocked part of the bathroom door haha. I learned a lot about Torsie, she is super duper sensitive to light at night.
I really miss my morning breakfast looking at the ocean with Steph & Caroline. :(  but I'm happy to have gotten a week of them.

I think we were all a little anxious or worried to see how it would turn out with everyone and the stress of driving down and playing tennis....what a waste of worry. I really had a blast once we got into our own groove.

Our first match was in the middle of a wood like area and I felt like I was in "The Great Gatsby".
There were clay courts spread out, a pool, a playground, and a little clubhouse like area.
The tennis courts had these old green and white stripped awnings to rest under in between games and I could literally picture the characters from the book drinking on the patio and watching games of tennis.
One of the cutest touches was that the club was run by a family. A little girl that was about 7 or 8 ran around watering the clay courts in her little tennis outfit. Her and another girl were playing a game of tennis for fun and their dog (one of two) would run up and snatch their fly tennis balls and run off to play fetch.
It was kind of majestical if you looked at it all.

I had a really good time and can't believe there are only a few weeks of school left.
Ahh.
Time flies whether you are having fun or not.
So we might as well have fun :)
