Second Half
Tomorrow I start my second half of college, officially.
I've been moved in for a little over 2 weeks for tennis preseason and tomorrow classes will begin again and I'll be a junior. So strange.
My oldest brother is also moving to SC this week and today I said bye to him until most likely Christmas. It's the one of the longest times I'll go without seeing him and it's the farthest away he has ever been. But fortunately I can rest assured that he is going to do amazing things there and in a few short weeks him being away will be the new "normal".
I'm always learning that getting older is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. You face challenges almost daily and have so much more going on. It can be a beautiful thing but it can also be a bit tricky. I believe that it really is true with age that the more I know, the more I realize I don't know anything. Oh my.
One thing that has helped put things into perspective for a bit is the book called Tuesdays with Morrie.
The book is about a professor and his unique and everlasting impression on his students and those around him. When the professor, Morrie, gets diagnosed with ALS a former student contacts him and they begin meeting every Tuesday. This book has some amazing quotes and insights from a man whom I wish I could have met. Morrie is funny, captivating, and sincere. This book makes for a great read that may even change the way you think about life and getting older.
So good luck with all of you in new stages in life. Embrace them. Life is too important to be taken seriously - Oscar Wilde -
