TWENTY-Thank you
I turned TWENTY today, 20 tw-unnn-tyyy. It sounds really strange so I'm just testing it out.
Initially I just felt strange about my birthday. Sometimes it seems that the older you get the less special they are...
but today has been amaaaazing. Honestly if I could bottle the excitement and energy that I feel right now, I would have enough stored up for the rest of the year.
I am beyond, beyond blessed with so many amazing and geninue people in my life.
I'm so lucky to be surrounded by people who love me everyday and especially showed it for my birthday. My amazing roommate put up signs all over campus saying "Happy Birthday" and it made me feel like a kid again. One friend called and stayed on the phone for 25 minutes so she could be the first to say Happy Birthday at midnight...a little bit after that another one called and literally sang me the whole Happy Birthday song, as does my aunt every year :)
I got a package, not just any package, but flowers! I love them and the sender.
I got to spend the majority of my afternoon in class with a great friend.
And get to go out to eat with my amazing family who has seen me grow for two whole decades. I wouldn't be who I am without them.
And then a million other little things that have literally made my day. Every text message and facebook comment and shout across campus is greatly appreciated.
I guess I'm just so excited to share it all because I feel just so purely and completely happy and above and beyond blessed. What I'm trying to say is thank you. thank you. thank you.
Even if I didn't get anything, knowing that everyone is sweet enough to take a second and say "Hey Happy Birthday" means the world to me right now.
I feel like I wouldn't trade being 20 for anything right now.
I love this place in my life.
