I think it is really important for people to get involved.
Although it can be really intimidating to put yourself out there...sometimes its so easy that you don't even realize how much of an impact you can have. Today specific restaurants opted to give portions of their proceeds to an AIDS volunteer company. I had the best time at breakfast this morning eating at a local restaurant. Not only is the food delicious and home grown/made, but a group consisting of 7 of my friends were able to give back. It was honestly a small contribution that has the potential to really add up and make a difference. I've learned that there are so many interesting opportunities around me, it is really just a matter of finding what there is to do and committing to helping. Even if it involves a wonderful warm breakfast on a freezing and snowy day, go for it, make that sacrifice ;)
